About Ocean Way Audio

Ocean Way Audio grew from Ocean Way Recording, the legendary group of recording studio complexes created by renowned engineer Allen Sides. Ocean Way Recording is comprised of three highly-respected facilities: Ocean Way Hollywood, Record One in Sherman Oaks, and Ocean Way Nashville. With music mixing and scoring rooms, and a mastering suite, Ocean Way Hollywood is the most awarded studio complex on the West Coast. The studios offer remarkable sounding rooms, plus unique custom equipment and impeccable electronic maintenance. Ocean Way features the largest vintage tube microphone collection in the US and a conscientious staff of professionals. In addition to our renowned mic lockers, the Ocean Way studios are highlighted by large soffit-mounted monitors that were custom designed for the rooms by Sides himself. These monitors quickly gained a reputation as some of the finest high-definition speakers available, and have been used to mix some of the most acclaimed recordings of the past few decades.

As time went by, engineers who had worked at Ocean Way began asking Allen to create custom monitoring systems for other facilities, and thus began the start of Ocean Way Monitoring Systems. At the end of 2006, Allen Sides partnered with GC Pro as the exclusive distributor of Ocean Way Monitoring Systems. Rather than simply designing generic speakers, Ocean Way Audio looks at each facility as an individual and unique environment for which entire custom monitoring systems are created to benefit the specific requirements of the room. Each studio purchasing an Ocean Way Monitoring System receives the benefit of an on-site evaluation during the design process, which includes the personal consultation of Allen Sides and his team. Serving everyone from large commercial mixing facilities to personal studios for serious musicians, engineers and producers, Ocean Way's mission is simple: we don't sell speakers, we sell a sound.
